About the event

Join the CCMCC on March 2nd from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM to celebrate the opening of "Treasures of Africa," an exhibition exploring treasure and the many forms it takes. Light refreshments will be provided.

The exhibition includes a variety of African artifacts from the collection of Ms. Ok Sun Burks of Starke, Florida. The theme of the exhibition invokes an examination of what is treasure and how treasure impacts our lives as expressed through paintings, statutes, fabric, and other items by African and/or African-inspired artists. Other exhibits currently on display at the museum include pieces by Dr. Patricia Hilliard-Nunn and an exhibit on Plantations in Alachua County. Families are welcome.

Tours of the historic Cotton Club Museum building will also be available.
